I used to walk a different road.
My path was smooth and wide.
The easy way was always best.
So downhill did I stride.
And then a fork was in the road.
There stood a man in white.
He said, That road will lead to death.
You need to make a right.
He offered me a narrow path,
Of rocks and hills and work.
Why would I trade all this for that?
He must think I’m a jerk.
So I go on the way I was.
But very soon I find,
The rocky path, the Man in white,
Are constant on my mind.
Again I came unto a fork.
This time it was at night.
My mind could not believe my eyes.
The path was in the Light.
The Man in white said, Follow Me,
Because for you I’m sent.
Believe that I can give you life
If you will just repent.
So now I walk among the rocks
And hills that make me strong.
And there’s no doubt within my mind,
I’m right where I belong.
