I stood upon a lofty cliff,
That faced a restless sea.
Above the water was my God.
There, beckoning to me.
I pondered how to get to Him.
I searched for ways to go.
The waves crashed on the jagged rocks,
A hundred feet below.
He said, Just keep your eyes on Me.
And do just what I say.
Have faith, I’ll never tell you come,
And then not make a way.
I thought, if I can’t trust the Lord,
I may as well be dead.
And so I ventured from the cliff,
Just as my Father said.
His hand comes up to meet my feet
When I step out in faith.
Enabling me to do His will,
By virtue of His grace.
