There is a river, deep and wide,
That flows through all the earth.
It is the special gift from God
To those of His rebirth.
Anyone can swim in there,
If they believe it’s good.
It’s waters bless and heal and love,
If they believe it could.
The world builds bridges over it.
They cross it high above.
They fear they’ll drown within it’s depths.
So they deny God’s love.
The waters give us joy and life.
They cleanse us of all sin.
We are the righteousness of God
The moment we step in.
I’m swimming backstrokes in His love.
A smile adorns my face.
My Lord declares me innocent
In God’s river of grace.
