There was a city on a hill.
It’s buildings, tall and stout.
Into the darkness of the land,
It’s Light shown round about.
The leaders of the darkened land,
Despised the land of Light.
For it exposed their evil ways.
And gave the people sight.
So they convinced the people there,
The pure, sweet Light was bad.
They claimed it was an iron fist.
And made the people mad.
Two thousand years, ten billion rocks,
The land of dark has thrown.
The city builds upon the rocks.
And how the city’s grown.
They still throw rocks to quench the Light.
Through all, the city’s stood.
The rocks they’ve thrown to cast it down,
The Lord has used for good.
