I sat, one day, at peace, alone.
My Bible in my hand.
I studied it in earnestness.
And prayed to understand.
Another man, I seen around,
As though he couldn’t see,
How busy that I was right then,
Sat down there next to me.
I thought I felt Him stare at me.
I tried to concentrate.
He should respect my time with God.
And so I let him wait.
I couldn’t think with him right there.
I closed my eyes to pray.
And by the time I opened them,
The man had walked away.
Then later on, at eventide,
That man I sought to find.
I didn’t see him anywhere.
I asked a friend of mine.
He told me of the unsaved man,
Who lived a life of strife.
He had no friend in all the world.
Today, he took his life.
